EA’s Burnout racing series has been on every recent console system, and more including the PSP, and has proven itself a success on screens both big and small. Well, this November, EA is about to try it on two screens as Burnout Legends comes to the DS. It may not be as pretty as it’s years of console cousins, but who cares – life in the fast lane is always a blur!
Burnout Legends will feature 12 courses: the best tracks from Burnout 1, 2 and 3. The DS Burnout Legends will also have a great variety of cars, including ten not found in the PSP version. Players can race against up to five players, each with their own Burnout Legends DS game, or just two with single-card download play. And, to top it off, a new, DS-tailored World Tour.
Crash Mode will be a big part of the World Tour; with Burnout Legends featuring exclusive DS touch control. Using the bottom screen and the stylus, players will guide their cars as they crash in an attempt to rack up points by creating even more devastating scenes of racing carnage.
When players are not guiding cars to their ultimate demise with touch control, the bottom screen will display a lot of typical HUD features, leaving the action to the top screen. Unfortunately, while this does make things less crowded, with things like the map and game score being displayed elsewhere, there is still a lot going on up there.
Featuring lots of extras to be unlocked and lots of classic Burnout courses and cars, Burnout Legends for the DS is a prime and portable choice for any Burnout fan, and just in time for Christmas!
